How to know an email is really from us

If you received an email about documents and you are not sure it is genuine, that caution is exactly right. Here is how to check.

  • Every email we send comes from an address ending in @clientadvisory.ca.
  • Every link in our emails leads only to clientadvisory.ca. You can check by pressing and holding the link on a phone, or hovering over it on a computer, before you open it.
  • We will never ask you for a password. We do not use passwords at all; we verify your email address instead.
  • We will never ask for banking details, credit card numbers, or payment by email.
  • We do attach documents sometimes. A signed copy once a signing is complete, a proposal, or a document from your file can arrive that way, so that you keep your own copy without needing to sign in. What an attachment from us never does is ask something of you. It will not ask you to sign in, it will not ask for a password or banking details, and you will never have to open a link inside it to read it. A document that asks you to do any of those things did not come from us. Anything that genuinely needs you is waiting in the portal.

If anything feels off, do not click. Forward the email to info@clientadvisory.ca and we will confirm whether it came from us.
